Vacation

I went swimming this summer and played tennis. It was a lot of fun! In tennis I got three glass pyramids because I earned them! I like my tennis coach because he's really a great teacher. In swimming I learned a stroke really well and now I'm able to do it really well. I can swim in the deep end now! More later!

Party Time!

Hi everybody! It's time for my next blog. This picture was the day of my birthday party. We had lots of fun - there was games like Twister, Connect Four and there was a disco ball and lots more. I wanted a disco party, so we had lots of stuff from 1970's. On Twister I said "this is too easy!" My birthday cake was humongous - titanic! It had a really weird picture of me in a disco suit dancing! I had sparklers all around my cake - it was cool!

Ras al Sudr - the Big Pool

This starts another exciting episode of my journies in Egypt!
This time I'm at a big pool in Ras al Sudr, and there's
a really big water slide and I'm having fun and
going down a really big water slide - the ladder to
get to it is really high and if use a mat you go down super super fast! I must have gone down like a hundred times! I had short breaks to eat fruit and then went right back to the water slide - it was awesome! Jakey didn't do it because he was scared, but I wasn't!

Memphis Femphis - the Big Guy

Mum and Dad and Jake and I went to Memphis to see a really big guy lying down. Memphis used to be the capital of Egypt, and so there are lots of cool statues there. This is a statue of Ramses, who was a really big Egyptian king, so they made a really big statue of him, but it fell down. Now you can almost hear it snoring. See how small we are compared to it!!!!

Ian and Owen, Owen and Ian

This is a picture of me and my best buddy Ian. He came to our house from Rome to visit us with his parents. My Mum and Dad know his Mum and Dad from Paraguay. He has a really cool game called Zelda hourglass (I think I want one for Christmas). We both had a great time and we drew pictures just to remember. We went to visit a kids Pharonic park together and the best part was the boat ride where we went down a stream and saw statues of Pharoahs and Egyptian life. I really really really hope to see Ian again soon.

Me and Daddy and the Sea

We went on vacation to a place called Ein Sukhna. It was good. I liked it a lot because of all the shells and stuff. This is a picture of Daddy and me picking up shells in the Red Sea. My toes really hurt because of all the shells we were stepping on. We even saw a starfish, and we took it home. It was very good and I liked the swimming pool and I made a new friend named John.

To the Zoo!!!

Hello everyone! Mommy and Nanny wanted to go to a flower show today. I was kind of bored, so Daddy took me and Jake to the zoo next door! The zoo was really hot but really better than the boring flower show! First we saw lots of flamingos, then we saw alligators and turtles. Then we saw this lion and Daddy took our picture standing right next to it! When Mommy saw the picture she almost had a heart attack. Good thing she wasn't there! I'm making a lion face in this picture. A group of girls kept following us around the zoo. I guess they don't see foreigners very often. They frustrated me because I wanted them to stop following me! Jacob talked to the girls, but he was scared of the lion. After the lion we fed an ostrich with lettuce on a stick. After all that we were really tired so we went back to the flower show, got Mommy and Nanny and went home.

See you next blog!

Cairo what?!?!?!?!

Mommy, Daddy, Jakey and I went to visit Old Cairo. Sometimes they call it Coptic Cairo, because it has a lot of Coptic Churches. Coptic people are a kind of Christian people, and they have been in Cairo forever! We went into a castle that had been turned into a museum, and the ceilings in there were pretty cool. We saw a book of psalms that was 1300 years old!! That's older than Grandad!!! Then we saw a church where Jesus hid with his family when he was a baby. It was really old too and really dark. Then we walked down some really old streets, and there was a shop that had this really cool King Tut so Daddy took a picture of me standing by it.

See you next blog!

The Birthday Bash!

Jacob had his fifth birthday party last weekend. It was very wacky! Look how crazy Jacob and I are on the bouncy castle!! Arrrrrrrr!!!!!!! We built life-size legos really really tall and then smashed them down. We had pizza and birthday cake, and then I went to my friend Ronnie's house to play.

Secret Secret Secret House

Hello everybody! How ya doin? I went to visit Islamic Cairo last weekend and saw some really cool stuff, like a really old house that had a secret passageway. You saw this cabinet that looked normal and then you pulled on it and it opened to a secret room where you could spy on people.

Then we had lunch in this really cool matam - that's Arabic for restaurant. I had a strawberry shake - yum yum yum yum yum and I ordered a cheese sandwich, but I didn't like it. I liked the bread though.

Then we went to the Khan el Khalil, which is the Arab market in Cairo. It's super huge and it looks like the movie Aladdin. Daddy bought me a magic lamp! I rubbed it, but nothing happened. Bummer!!! I was hoping that a genie would pop out so I could wish that school was over forever!!!! Maybe next time. We had a lot of fun - see you next blog!

Pyramids Make Me Crazy!!!!!!!

Hello everybody! I went to Dashur and Saqqara with Mom, Dad and Jacob. Dashur and Saqqara are places where pyramids are. They are like the Great Pyramid but different. One of the pyramids is bent, and the other one is red and the other one looks like giant steps so they call it the Step Pyramid - pretty cool! It was fun to see these different pyramids because I got to stand on one of the rocks on the bent pyramid. I said "I'm the king of the world!!" There are not a lot of people at these pyramids because everyone goes to the Great Pyramid, so I could dance around and be crazy. It was really hot even though it's only February. Mom and Dad wouldn't let me climb up on any higher rocks - bummer! Jakey wanted to ride a camel and he cried when we said no - what a crazy kid! Camels are smelly and I don't like them! I asked why can't we climb up the pyramid if it's called the Step Pyramid, but Daddy said I was asking too many questions. Bye for now!

Castle in Egypt!!

Hi everybody! We went to the Citadel which is a castle in Egypt. The Egyptian knights used to live there and they had trap doors, but I couldn't go down any. There's a really big mosque there and Daddy took a picture of me. Look! My favorite part was when Mum and Dad bought me and Jacob some ice cream. Dad said it was as expensive as the antiquities, whatever that means. We saw some tanks from the war between Israel and Egypt, and I thought it would be cool to ride one, but Daddy said I couldn't. Instead we saw the military museum, which was really really long and I couldn't feel my legs by the time I came out. See you next blog!

Monster baby eats some cereal

Hi everyone! So guess what happened this week? Zachary ate mushy food for the first time - it was really funny to see. He spit a lot of it out. I got to give him his very first spoon and then Jacob gave him the next one. It was so funny to see him with food all over his mouth. I went back to school a few days ago and Mommy and Daddy are really happy, but I just want to play my Wii!

The Neverending Christmas

Hello everybody! For Christmas I got lots of stuff. Jake got a Nintendo DS and I got a Wii. Well, we both got a Wii, but I really really like it! I can play bowling and tennis and boxing and I beat Mum and Dad all the time!! Christmas is really fun here because it starts with the Eid - that's a holiday for Muslim people, and we got off school just as it started and Mum and Dad got off work for 3 days! Then there's Christmas and New Year's, then there's Coptic Christmas, which is today! Coptic Christmas is for Eastern people who celebrate Christmas, but they still get presents and I even got presents today! I really like having two Christmases! It's nice here because everyone says Merry Christmas to you even if they don't celebrate Christmas and I'm learning to say things in Arabic like "marhaba" which means "hi" and "shokron" which means "thank-you".
